DONALD Duck, the world’s best-known incoherent waterfowl, has turned 70.
The snow-white duck with a cranky disposition has appeared in 128 cartoons since his debut on June 9, 1934, in an animated cartoon called The Wise Little Hen.
Clarence “Ducky” Nash made Donald’s trademark duckspeak instantly recognisable. He gave Donald a voice for 50 years and then was succeeded by Tony Anselmo.
