The attached photograph was taken in early to mid 1935 in Doncaster Yorkshire, I would like to know if anyone recognises the pilot (I know a long shot) and the aircraft.
The couple on the left are my Grand Father and Grand Mother and the baby is my uncle who was born in January 1935. At that time it was thought that he was the youngest person to have flown anywhere in Yorkshire.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
Ian

Thanks guys, I told my Aunt I thought it was Cobhams circus, but couldn’t indentify the aircraft. That’s great.

The tour was in Doncaster, at Armthorpe Airfield, on 3 June 1935. The Airspeed Ferry was G-ABSI and the pilot was probably J R King (Joseph Richard). There is a picture of him in Colin Cruddas’s Air Britain book about the flying circuses and he looks similar enough, the wavy hair being similar.

It looks like an Airspeed Ferry probably belonging to Sir Alan Cobham on one of his ‘National Aviation Day’ tours.
