Don't get ill

Jeremy Hunt, Health Minister, states, the Conservatives are muting an idea, that if any of us pay too many visits to our G.P. we could be forced to look elsewhere for treatment.
So what happens if you have a progressive illness, elderly or young child?.and need to pay regular visits.
Are they trying to put the screws on gradually into making us take out a Private Healthcare Plan?.

Moggy. I think you will find out about 38 Degrees, and David Babbs, by Googling it. It may be harmless, there again, draw your own conclusions.I agree with you, I have never seen it advertised other than by email.Any other members get these emails?.

Moggy,I saw it on 38 Degrees, the same as Trumper did. He has denied saying it, but he would, wouldn’t he?

Jim, I hear what you say. But where else, other than on that one site has it ever been seen? I did a fairly thorough search before posting and I can find no reference whatsoever to anything even resembling what he is purported to have said on BBC, or any of the UK newspapers (apart from the Mail which I wouldn’t pollute my computer by looking at).

I don’t know if in signing the ‘petition’ you had to give an address or e-mail, if you did I am guessing it is a cynical harvesting exercise.

Of course, I am happy to retract the suggestion if you can show where he is supposed to have proposed such a policy.

If not, can I suggest you adopt a slightly more sceptical attitude to stuff that floats around the internet?

he would, wouldn’t he?.He is a Politician.

Which, of course, to an old cynic, suggests two distinct possiblities:-
1/. The whole thing was dreamed up by an Opposition MP, just to cause mischief.
2/. The “idea” came from a government source, knowing the furore it would cause, thereby enabling a little game of double bluff, where the plot is very publicly dropped, and another, equally sneaky, but less damaging, is slid in in its place.

I was going to ask Linc where he got the original story from as he didn’t bother to provide any links.

Turns out that the whole thing was made up. Hunt has confirmed it isn’t and never has been a Tory policy proposal.

[QUOTE=EGTC;2028808], but it’s the system that needs changing slightly.

Ash, That’s a gross understatement if ever I’ve heard one. Massivly would be more appropriate, I was told last Nov, I needed another Op, to rectify the previous clanger they dropped, Got the date, the other week or several ago, it’s going to take place in mid July, mind you, nothing serious, just my Aorta leaking blood. :highly_amused:

The thing is that sometimes you need to visit your doctor many times before they refer you on to a hospital. Like when I was very very ill in 2011 and I had to visit my doctor weekly at times, eventually I got referred to a dermatologist after about 2 months, the first time the dermatologist saw me (which was another 3 month wait) he admitted me to hospital where I stayed for 3 weeks. Can’t fault the treatment and staff though, they were all great from the doctor, dermatologist right to the hospital staff, but it’s the system that needs changing slightly.

The NHS isn’t safe, Tories or no.

It simply isn’t sustainable in its current form.

The NHS has not been sustainable for decades and the Beveridges and Bevans of this world would be appalled to see how the vision of the late forties has turned out

Our way of life is no longer sustainable. Everything has been done to lower wages, bills, costs(even though they are growing).
Eventually you’ll just have to cut services or pay for treatment. Already we go without treatment due to the expense. I don’t go to the dentist because it’s very expensive unless I’m in pain. The same most likely for medical treatment. Fingers crossed I have no illnesses at this time.

We all have the right to a quality of life, how many of us, of Pensionable age could be taken on by a Company who sells Private Health Plans, NONE I would imagine, but even if they did, I doubt if many could afford the monthly payments. Just another Tax by any other means, just like the so called “Green Energy” Tax.
I have no doubt, that J. Hunt, has a P.H.P. that’s free with the job.But paid for by guess who……………………………………………………..?.
