Double or Single breast jackets for Pilots

Calling all Pilots of commercial / private liners

Would you prefer a single breast jacket or a double breast jacket (which has been quite a norm)? Which one gives you the most comfort ?

Just curious – so pls reply

Are you suggesting that a double breasted jacket doesn’t look smart?

To be honest i think it depends on age…. 🙂

ie… im in my mid twentys and would never go double as i dont think it looks to good… however… with no disrespect to anyone, if you are a middle late mids, you can pull a double breast jacket off… that is my thoughts anyway.

I wouldn’t be seen dead in a double breasted jacket (though don’t quote me on that IF and when they come back in fashion). They look dated and are a nasty backlash from the 70’s and 80’s. So personally I don’t think they are smart. Single breasted suits look crisp and neat.

Surely, anybody that has ever worn an everyday suit can answer this question.

I don’t think i’ve ever seen a commercial pilot in a single breasted jacket, although Virgin Blue and Southwest pilots do wear leather jackets
