Doug Arnold's Spitfires

Doug Arnold – he had a fair collection of Spitfires. Any ideas as to what became of them?

PRXI PL983 and MkXIVe SM832 aside, I know there was MkIXc NH238 and XVIII SM969 (in storage with Flying A Services?), but I was sure he had a few others, along with a number of other warbirds (P-47 etc).

Does the first part of your post mean that you let goats do unsavoury things to you?:D 😀 😀 😀

Must be a popular piece of headwear, more convenient than a goat I suppose

I want a TFC cap. I only have an OFMC one. The TFC ones were at Legends on Saturday, but had gone by Sunday.

Is a pattern emerging?

They could then call it ‘Avro of the North (Atlantic)’

Perhaps the IWM could do that with the Shackleton, at least that way it gets to keep its wings.

101 uses of a Mustang…….

Take it to the top of a big hill, stick the tail in the ground, with the nose pointing skyward, and call it ‘The Angel of the North (American)’:D

Would make a nice tourist attraction

Yep, I can back up Yak11fan here – Janie was definitely the only Mustang in that hangar today.

Nope, there is no room in the hanger, I’d have noticed if there was more than one in there.

Don’t forget in this hot weather the Mustang has a very effective cooling fan strapped to the front of it. Maybe we could start a new thread, 101 uses of a Mustang 😀 😀 😀

I suspect that I may have located her, did I say hanger?? Ooooops that may have given the game away a little, still if you were a Mustang in hiding you’d want to be somewhere warm and dry wouldn’t you? Believe me there is no way you would get a Mustang in a house, otherwise we’d all have one wouldn’t we 😀
