Douglas DC-5 parts in Israel?

I hope you’ll forgive me for starting yet another IAF-related thread.

While browsing the Air-Britain “The Complete Civil Aircraft Registers of The Netherlands Since 1920”, published in 1987, I found this interesting snippet on the DC-5 c/n 426, PH-AXB.

“At least parts seem to be still in existence and efforts are under way to get `something´ to The Netherlands.”

This DC-5 served with the IAF as the famous Bagel Lancer, and according to other published information, was broken up in 1955 at the Technical School in Haifa.

Was the Dutch recovery effort of the DC-5 parts successful?

Regards,

Jan
