Yesterday I flew from AMS to MRS and back to get familiar with the Basiqair product of Transavia airlines. This as the company I work for will handle their reservation calls as of 27th of January.
Both outbound and inbound flights on time and as this was duty travel no hassle at all checking in both ways. Low cost operations (AMS MRS start of at €29,- one way excluding taxes of course but the only difference with full fare is that you will have to buy anything you would like on board. Sandwiches ok but coffee not really enjoyable.
All in all not a special experience, the quickest bus-ride from A till B. Must admit though sitting in row 1 is nice but even on row 2 I had space for my legs (am 1.85m).

RE: Down and up AMS MRS with BASIQAIR of Transavia airlines
Alicante is also being operated out of Rotterdam. This is why I am so very busy at the moment. They are really going through a big change. New Advertising agency, new destinations flown as from 1 april (but bookable as of 27th of January, new website, new reservationsystem and new callcenter. The last one is where I come in as they are coming to the company I work for and I am involved in getting everything ready by the 27th. Left home this morning at 06.45 and came home at 19.15.

RE: Down and up AMS MRS with BASIQAIR of Transavia airlines
Back on line after a very busy week but only for tonight as two very busy weeks with long working days still ahead.
To answer your question EGNM, there are no plans to create a corporate identity for Basiq Air. By keeping it with Basiq Air by Transavia the company is way more flexible in switching a/c between the Basiq Air operation and the charter operation.

Up till now they were not that well known in the Netherlands either. Starting the 27th they will start promoting a lot as of that day not 6 destinations to be booked but 13 :-). They fly only out of AMS and RTM to the mediterranean countries so no real wonder. Further more it is a product by Transavia, a/c are in Transavia colours :-(.

Basiqair seem the be a reeally quiet operator – we never seem to hear anything about them on here
