I would agree – look at this better angle shot showing what does appear to be a scoop fitted: LINK

Could be a locally fitted air scoop to give the rear seat occupant a little relief from the African heat?

Just out of interest?
Just out of interest, what is that sticking out of the rear cockpit side wall?

So that’s what a Burmese Spitfire looks like when it’s been buried for 60+ years!
If they’ve turned to Daz, will the authorities have to get Danny Baker to do the doorstep challenge?:diablo:

Oh great! Are there Spitfires buried in Zambia too?
Shhhh, you’ll have the newspapers making up stories.
By: Arabella-Cox - 2nd November 2012 at 13:06
Yes yes….its all been a bit of a ruse.
It was really Zambia all along. The suggestion of Burma was just to put everyone off the scent of aluminium oxide..:)

perspex to go a bit milky….
I’ve added them to the canopy cover list!

A pity that being buried in that wooden crate has caused the perspex to go a bit milky….
Otherwise pretty good, though! :p

Yes,yes yes, all very nice, but I think at this stage we need a bit less ‘snappy-snap’, and a bit more ‘diggy-dig’ !
Plain speaking, aye. I calls a spade a spade, not a ‘Manually Facilitated Earth Extraction System’ 😉
My socks have got bigger holes than these so-called buriel sites!
