I recollect joy rides from the old Heathrow around 1949/1950 and then in the mid-fifties. Does anyone have any further information or background or photos?

A couple of minutes in photoshop and illustrator gives my interpretation of it, think this is more like it including the point at the bottom of the shield.
inkworm, thank you very much, i think that could be spot on actually, its always good to know there are people on here willing to spend sometime to help others out, there have been quite a few occasions i have been stumped by low quality images and logos, your time has been very much appreciated and G – AIDL can take to the air once more around the Mountains of Snowdonia…
many thanks

The symbol in green looks like an upper case ‘C’ in an Old English font, the nearest match I could find from my collection is CloisterBlack BT, though there are some discrepancies which would be easy enough to fix
Hi inkworm, thanks for the reply, yes i did think it either looked like a C or a D, but C would make more sense really, this is what i have so far, im not even sure if that is right though lol

again thanks for you help!!

…just to start with
above the logo: the Welsh Dragon
under the logo: AIR CAERNARFON
Hi wieesso
Thanks for the info, i do have the Welsh dragon already placed above the shield and the rest of what i could make out, there is a symbol inside the green section of the shield that to me looks like an initial done in fancy writing..
many thanks

I have at last managed to find out how to include my photo of G-AGJG as previously mentioned. The owners have obviously done a good job of restoration.
What a fantastic job. She looks as bright as the day she entered service. Thanks for the photo.
