Just noticed that the Manx2 flight from the Isle of Man (Flight BPS302) Which should be an BAe Jetstream 31 has now just diverted to Blackpool Airport.

Any ideas what LBA have been getting recently on these flights? Is it the J31’s (G-PLAJ or others?) and if so they should be using ‘JXT’ codes!?

Britannia 757`s could land at LBA with RVR 75m in the early days. And with a 3kt tailwind component. Dont know what has changed.

Jet2 757s appear to have no problems landing in Cat3 conditions at MAN, therefore one can only suggest that LBA has some kind of issue which precludes them landing there in Cat2 or Cat3 conditions?

Its the great big hump in the middle of the runway that effects Jet2’s B757 CATII and CATIII operations at LBA all acounts. Did hear somewhere else that it can be sorted out with some crew training sorties which are planned for the new year.

Thomsonfly use to have the same problem at LBA but seem to have it solved on there B757’s over the years.

Hi

As you say both the KLM Fokker (KL1549 to HUY) and flybe (BE644 to DSA) have diverted due to RVR’S here at LBA down to 250 meters with Runway 14 in use at this time.

But good old Based Low cost airline Jet2 seem to be getting in with there Boeing 737’s. Fight LS196 from Prague has landed along with flight LS266 From Malaga, LS272 from Alicante and LS208 from Murcia.

Currently in the hold at this time are a bmi regional, Embrear 145 from Brussels (BD614) and a Eastern Airways, BAe Jestream 41 from Southampton as (T34705)
