Thanks for all the comments ,
Was hoping that it would rain , so that we could get some spray as it lifted off , but it started to poured down just as we got to the car (sods law) though we managed to get a Cargolux 747 taking off , might post that later

what a machine! bet that made your hat blow of as it went over head! not much runway left!

Nearly ended up on my back as it went over us 😮 , filled the lens with the undercarrige at 100mm, so plenty of detail on the tyres:eek:

Would I be right in thinking that other than the A380, PIK has played host to every significant heavy lifter in the jet era, both western and eastern, military and civil ?

Fantastic Shots

That looks like one bumpy runway at Prestwick. I thought Bristol was bad with it’s famous uphill slope 😀

I imagine ‘Ugly Betty’ will be in all the time once 787 production gets going in earnest ?;)

It’s fat and ugly like my Mother-in-law

Class shots. Especially the one at the end of the runway.

Should be very regular into PIK for fuelstops. Given it’s weight, PIK is the only Scottish airport that can handle it.

many thanks to all for all the comments,
Hoefully it should appear into PIK more regularity, might even get it to nightstop along with the Supertanker
At the moment it ‘s only doing a fuel stops first on it’s way to Italy then on its way stateside stopping for about 2 hours each time

James , I got to admit I was to focused on the aircraft it self to notice the Runway ,I have know for quite a while that it dips half way along its lenthg, but did’ nt realise it did that much , who needs a rollercoster :p

Brilliant shots there like the shot off the runway,Its funny how the runway is not straight 😀 Do you notice it when your taking off? Was it stopping for fuel?
