Here is a driving theory question taken from an official theory cd-rom.
When approaching a tunnel and intending to drive through what is good advice to do.
(A) Put your sunglasses on.
(B) Tune your radio to a local station.
(C) Check your tyre pressures.
(D) Change into a lower gear.
Now I will tell you what I answered as I really didnt see one that I liked the answer of. I would have said put on your dipped headlights but that is not one of the option so I put D as it was the only driving related answer that might fit.
The actual answer was B.
NOw can anyone tell me WHY this is driving theory. My van doesnt have a radio so why would I need to know that.
Bloody stupid question if you ask me.
The CD had 35 questions on it and you needed to get 30 to pass.
I got 30 on the button and I dont mind admitting I got my licence 13 years ago and am glad I didnt need to sit anything like this when I was learning. I am also not afraid to admit I was usless at some of the question that were simple. How did you get on with this one.

Quickly change your mind safely and accurately and take the next Left to bypass the tunnel!…piece of cake! 🙂

thats pretty good as we have 5 people driving at my work and each scored 24 25 26 29 and me I am the only one with a pass mark of 30 which was laid out on the cd. Just how well I would do in the real exam I dont know but hey it was a pass first time and well we have all been driving for 13 years +.
dont be too hard on yourself it will come.

There are a bunch of websites too which provide a similar service

Is is necessary to put the headlights on. Those who fail to do that are dangerous…
Regarding the radio thing… Maybe for some traffic infos? It also seems very senseless.
And, being ready to put sunglasses on is a good thing too, especially during sunny days, or you’ll get blended by the sun when you exit the tunnel !

So you’re heading towards a tunnel at 70mph, you have to take your eyes off the road and hands off the wheel to re tune the radio to the local station just in case there is somesort of obstruction, in the meantime you’ve swerved across all three lanes of the motorway causing one almighty pile up.
Let’s hope the people behind you have had the sence to retune their radios as well to avoid the smash you’ve just caused.
It’s not on the list but personally would switch my headlights on as I entered the tunnel, sod the radio.

The same here. they are introducing some kind of maintenance test. They have a 100 questions handbook and they randomly select 10 I guess.
If one doesn’t know the difference between a carburetor and an injection pump :flunk.
What the hell all of this has to do with driving a vehicle? Pathetic!

Surely the last one, especially if it’s the Clyde Tunnel, it’s goes down hill for ages before coming back up. You’d not want shades in there as the vandals keep breaking the lights and it’s too long for a radio signal.
There should also be an option there about reassuring tunnel phobic passengers, especially them that have just watched that new brit-horror flick 28 Days !

I’d probably have got there by elimination
Can’t be a) you need your sunglasses off.
No earthly reason for c)
With no mention of any change of gradient d) isn’t a runner
But why on earth b)?
In case the tunnel is blocked and you can stay clear? Dunno

IAM qualified on two and four wheels.

I would choose ‘A’ I think it’s important to look “COOL” whilst driving 😀
