Drunken night reveals aviation gem

Some years ago (more than a decade – how old do I feel!) a group of us from RAF Cosford stumbled into a bar in Birmingham City centre. The central pedestal of the room was a main undercarriage leg from either a Vulcan or Victor (Too drunk to know which), and it has plagued me for years… (1996/1997)

Firstly, where was it?
Secondly, what was it?
Is it still there, if not where did it go?
Why was it there? Any particular story to tell?
