DUB-LGW Photo Report

Seems to be the fashion of late so here comes my futile attempt :diablo:

Returning from Dublin after 4 fantastic days here are some shots of the journey back – I’ve given a small explanation to each.
Please be aware that I’m not a photographer really so the shots aren’t that great – I’ve had a go at cleaning them up and I’d be grateful if you let me know what you all think of them.
Here we go then…

Shopping mall at a cramped Dublin airport just after security. The queue for the ladies toilet was about 20 strong. Luckily for me the gents were empty! I’ve heard that they’re putting up a marquee on the roof of the car park to try and relieve congestion – it certainly needs it:

EI-DCL, the wonderful dreamliner livery complete with matching winglets. I hoped I’d be travelling on it, however it wasn’t to be. Some other time perhaps?

Aer Lingus A321 after pushing back. Off to Croatia if my memory serves me right.

My favourite of the bunch – a gleaming EI-DLJ just before I boarded.

Fueling’s still done by tankers.

The motorway from the city to the airport.

A steep turn over the industrial periphery of Dublin.

You can just make out Dun Laoghraie Harbour.

Wonderful cloud trails at 38,000 feet:

Final approach to 26L, the M23 in sight.

Touchdown…almost by the BA maintenance area.

Fire training aircraft and an old bird.

Air Finland 757-200.

The GHANA International 757-200 – this boards by stairs everyday due to a lack of available gate at the North Terminal.

A couple of EZY A319’s at the horrible Pier 1.

Emergency Exit row seat on-board the 737-800. I noted Ryanair have no row 13.

EZY A319 shot head on from the walkway between Pier 1 and the main terminal.

Overcast – My sister is crewing the XLA 737-800 to the rear which was off to Alicante.

OT-I used to work on O’Connell St when I was younger, never again. I still look over my shoulder whenever I’m there but maybe it’ll get better now it’s been revamped.

😀 – We were fortunate enough to stay just off O’Connell street – it looked magical in the evening with the ‘spike (?)’ lit up. A fantastic city.

I can’t believe some of the trouble you guys go to for these trip reports. Fair play to you all 😎 If only there was an exam for aviation trip reports 😀

Some nice pics there. But GIA use the South Terminal at LGW 🙂 By the looks of things its parked at the cargo area? I’ll take a guess at that being taken on June 1st? Stand 161? If so, it arrived on stand 23 and was towed away to 161. Stayed overnight for an A check.

They do indeed use the South Terminal – my bad 😀
Your guess is absolutely correct 😮
