This is something which is being discussed in the Trip Reports forum, but I thought I’d be best to post it here.
There’s been a meet proposed on Monday 13th February at DUB. On a clear day, DUB can be great for photography after a 20 minute walk round to the South of RWY28. You can see the threshold, with all of the aircraft touching down infront of you.
So far, it seems that myself, Mark L and PMN will be able to attend. All going well I should be able to book flights tomorrow.
I’m gonna fly out on FR from STN just because it’s convenient for an early morning departure, arriving at DUB at 0745. Then leave DUB at 1530 on the Aer Lingus flight to LHR (can’t resist a landing at LHR, and it’s better than yet another 738).

The chances of you getting a 7 seater taxi to take you around to the mound are slim. Those taxi drivers queue for 5 hours sometimes to pick up a fare and may just tell you to ******* off if you ask them to bring you arond the corner. Try departures for a taxi because as Ive said arrivals wont be impressed.

Paul would do well to arrive at 10:50, thats the time the flight departs LBA :D.

I have been to the mound by car, but not on foot. Has anyone got directions from the terminal, just in case.

Can i suggest that Wannabe gb gary RIP and Future share a 7 seater taxi around to the spotters mound and then we can sort out lifts from there to the other end if in use? Maybe the above could meet in McDonalds as shud be open enough to spot dan sitting by window with his camera out lol!
I was planning on walking straight round to the mound once I’ve arrived. I planned my flight arrival time so that I’d be there just before sunrise. Only takes about 20 minutes if you walk fast, then I’ll wait for the others to arrive an hour or so later. If the weather is crap then I’ll wait for the others in McDonalds, but we’ll discuss that nearer the time.

As i told MarkL last night, sadly i won’t be joining you.
Its not viable for me to spend £40 on a ferry, spend a total of 5 hours on it, then try and get from the Port of Dun Laouighe (sp) only to have to return to the port within 2 hrs of arriving!
Also money is tight, with Canada and Honkers to pay for.
Any trip MAN bound in the Summer and i’ll join up!
