cheers for the photos, think can see our hotel in the shot of palm island! The seawings flight looks interesting.
Also thanks for the info on the museums. Didnt Air Atlantique fly out there a couple of years ago and had something to do with the setting up of it?

I had three weeks in Dubai just before Christmas. Not impressed – the worlds biggest building site and you can forget walking anywhere – cab or nothing.

I have been to Dubai in August – watch out for the mind melting heat – like nothing I have ever experienced before!!! Thankfully, everything with a roof is airconditioned! The Emirate Airlines HQ by the airport is an interesting building – it is styled on a commercial airliner.

Rob68, Naff all aviation history in Dubai, although a very interesting museum in next door Sharjah, search for links to that on this forum, it’s very close ! just over the river ! Although having said that there are quite a lot of very old Russian aircraft ferrying supplies to the troops in Iraq from Dubai ???
I would certainly reccomend the ‘seawings’ seaplane adventure, a 30 minute flight around the main parts of Dubai in a cessna floatplane, although it costs about £100 per person ! gives you these sort of views ….
The Aircraft.

The worlds only six star hotel !

The first palm island.

The tallest building in the world, still under construction !

And sunset from my sister’s balcony !

Well if it is any consolation i will be in Dubai around that time!!
Also not quite aviation related but the QE2 should be viewable by then.

Nah,if there is anything there,it will only be a replica anyway, just look at the buildings!
Not much to see.

…but you can do it in style.
