Dublin airport 29-30/04/06

just back from my first visit to Dublin Airport, i have to say it was a very positive experience 🙂
only negative point was the sun ; she was absent that w.e. 🙁 only saturday evening, it was already 18.00 hrs, i had sunshine, but light turned quickly yellow so i stopped taking pics round 19.00 hr.
this sunshine had given me good hope for sunday, but soon it turned out that sunday was even worse than saturday :rolleyes: around 15.00 hr it was getting real dark and you just could smell the rain coming 😡 so i headed back early to the terminal to try take some shots from there.
it was a wise discission i had taken 🙂 just as i arrived at the terminal, rain started to fall and i entered the building to go eat and drink something first ( i hadn’d eat ore drink since breackfirst 😉 ) i did a little tour in the building and found out that from the Mc Donalds you can take shots from pier A and most of the taxiways 🙂 despite being behind glass and rain on the window, i could take some reasonable shots from there.
view from there is comparable with the Wingtips restaurant at BRU, when i checked in, i had a better view from pier A, but the windows where so dirty there that i just deleted al the pics i took there 😡
overall the viewpoints around the airfield are very good, despite a new fence that has been raised, it is very well possible to take some excellent shots all along rwy 28 🙂
i know local spotters are very upset with the new fence ( had a little chat with one of them ) but believe me guy’s ; elsewhere it is much worse 😉
in my opinion and experience, Dublin get’s the third place in a very thighed Top3 with AMS as my undisputed fav, DUS on a close second and DUB almost as good 🙂
