Dublin Meet

I am finishing school early this December due to the end of my mock exams and am currently very tempted to book myself a final flight to finish off an extremely interesting year, aviation wise. I can fly to DUB from STN on 16th December (Thursday) for a price which I should be able to manage, just wondering if there is anyone on here that would like, or is able to join me? The main reason I have chose DUB is becuase this is my most likely chance to get on a 732 before they retire, and I know that FR205 (leaving STN at 0815) is more often than not a 732, after seeing it over my school every morning.

If anyone lives local please feel free to join me from STN, or if you’re closer to LGW or LTN you could also fly FR from there.

This is not completely guaranteed yet, but I don’t think I can resist the temptation for much longer! Aside this, can anyone offer any spotting tips for Dublin? And are the best spots easily accessible on foot from the terminal?

So who is actually going for sure? By this I mean: who has actually booked a flight for the 16th?

I know so far that myself, A330Crazy, rudi, wannabe pilot and andrewm will be attending. Anyone else?

Right just have to clarify with work (Xmas period so plenty of shoppers about, and dodging school for some extra dosh :D) before i can book, and now i’ll be doing Aer Lingus as it’s only £2 more then RYR and better times!
I can’t get to MAN any earlier due to…yes…public transport, and i can’t get back any later due to boggin public transport! I’ll give you an update tomorrow evening

I’m going to have one hell of a big Credit Card bill next month! 😀

I think myself and A330Crazy will be the first to arrive at a scheduled 8:05am from London Heathrow. We’ll be arriving on Aer Lingus 149 which will depart Heathrow at a rather early 6:50am.

I expect we’ll be the last to leave, too. Our homeward bound flight is not until 20:55, arriving at 22:05 at Heathrow. Flight is Aer Lingus 192. Unfortunately, the earlier flights at 6pm or 7pm, which would have been better, were an extra £20, and when you are spending £50 on the flight as it is, an extra few quid just makes it expensive.

MarkL, I understand what you’re saying about flying with us from Heathrow. I’ve got to rely on public transport to get to the airport and the only feasible option looks like National Express at 2:10am in the morning, arriving at about 3:10am! Then I have to wait more than a hour until check in even opens! It’s going to be one hell of a long day.

Slightly related (not really) – saw the Hertz 732 operating out of LGW today, so it is still flying as I vaguely recall there was some dispute on the board?
