Well the Saudi planes are becoming a kind of regular irregular at DUS. We had quite a few (including a 744 and other widebodies) in the last months. AFAIK they are used for VIP transport for people seeking medical treatment in Germany and sometimes they are used for extended shopping trips.

wow! What was that Saudi plane doing in DUS? That is not a regular is it? Must get myself over the DUS some day soon, it is starting to be a very serious competitor to AMS judging from these shots.

That’s the Antonov AN-124. It’s a massive, Russian-built aircraft. Not as big as its bigger sister, the AN-225 though!
Thanks! 🙂

Is it just me, or does DUS get more and more heavies? I can remember the days when the DUS-forum would be counting down the days to a 747. Nowadays whenever I see photos from DUS a Kalitta 747 or An-124 is there.
Great shots! Love the An-124.
Yes, we are having more and more cargo traffic at DUS. Today you can count on 4-8 747Fs a week. The An124 has also become quite a regular visitor. We had a DC-8 lately, an AN-12 …
