Last weekend I was all geared up to go to Dusseldorf but had to cancel because of some dusty global event.
This Saturday the weather gods were again smiling at us so time to go.
For those who do not know Dusseldorf, it is comparable to Manchester in seize and activities.
Lufthansa does Intercontinental flights with A330’s (3 on a Saturday) and it is the hub for Air Berlins (A330) long range activities.
Add to this many holiday charters, lots from Turkey, Russian connections like S7 Sibir and visitors from former Yugoslav states and you have a nice mix.
Dusseldorf has lost some of the American and Candian carriers of the years.
For a photographer Dusseldorf is very good. There are 2 roof terraces, one on the terminal and one at the the far end of the runway on top of the trainstation.
They open at 6 in the morning in the summer and light is good from early morning till about 14.00.
Here is a mix, shot from the terminal terrace.

Old and new colors, spot the differences

One of the reasons for going to DUS, the aircraft is XL airways Germany, ITS is a touroperator. The titles translate into “welcome to your holiday”

Kind regards
