Dusseldorf

I am off to Dusseldorf next weekend (28th-29th October) with Stuart (RIPConcorde) for a weekend of aviation/photography etc. I gather from looking at the runway directions and positioning of the viewing terraces, that photography will be best from the terrace in the morning? Are they still ok in the afternoon, or does anyone know of anywhere else better to go? We are staying in one of the airport hotels, but the only transport that we have will be public transport.
