It took much more time as expected, but Constelation N749NL, has taken off from Arizona (where it was stored for almost 9 years) and is now underway to Europe. After four hours of flying it completed the first leg to Houston, Texas. To keep updated on the journey, look at http://www.aviodome.nl. That is the official , and most up to date, news resource on the project.

RE: Dutch Constellation: Now it is for real
I understand it is in the air now, so hopefully they reach Duxford later this afternoon. At the Warbird Information Exchanche forum it is mentioned to have taken off at 09.00 hrs.

Rumour has it very strong that the Connie will arrive at Duxford mid to late afternoon today, remain overnight and fly out Wednesday morning.
This site has news but is incredibly slow to load:

Hi Roger,
Will she be touching down in the UK at any time during the ferry flight? If so,where?
Fingers crossed that everything goes well after all the hitches that have been cropping up in the past.

RE: Dutch Constellation: Now it is for real
Wheather permitting, it is in the air now, crossing the Atlantic. If so, it is expected in Iceland later this day. It took 1 1/2 years to transform it from the condition at the photo, to a fully operational machine.

Sorry, it is at Fort Worth, not Houston.
