Dutch defense budget cuts

OK, I know I don’t talk about the KLu (RNLAF). Anyways, I just talked to somebody who works there, and he told me there are rumours that the KLu is thinking about closing down an air base, probably Gilze Rijen, because of yet another budget cut (800 million euros this time). KLU’s Apaches are based there, and the KLu has just built new hangars for these Apaches. The Apaches will have to kove to another base, and new hangars will have to be built for them.

18 F-16s are set to go as well, bringing the number of F-16s in KLu service below 100, IIRC.

I’d like to know what you all think about these terrific ideas.
