Hi
Here’s a few pics from my trip to Duxford on Wednesday. I was lucky to get there early to see EP120 having her engine tested, and the Catalina departed just after noon. The Hastings had a team of restorers busily working on her. I’m sure she’ll look great!

Seriously, glad the Hasting finally receives some tlc. It got some about a decade ago but where has the time gone.
Hope it will be in as fine condition as the Hermes fuselage when finished. Handley Page built some important types, which is not generally appreciated by joe public.
Totally in agreement…. 😎 😎 😎
Great news about the dear old Hastings – I remember seeing her restored the last time around & she looked mint…… couldn’t understand for the life of me why she just got shoved outside over the last few years & left to the ravages of our Crap weather, especially being such a comparitively rare old girl.

Think not – it’s much more square.
(Didn’t notice the CASA 2.111 in the first shot, but I meant in the third shot – the one with the swastika on the tail, behind SM845)
Doh. I appologise. I was looking at the first picture.

Yes, it was the JU52. Couldn’t get any pics of it because the doors were only open a bit.
I suspected Ju52, but I couldn’t recall whether DX had one!
Thanks for that.

The second best thing Hasting wings can be used for is on a Hastings of course. The best thing is…….. 😮

Then again, in Holland we have a public television organisation called AVRO. When I was a small boy and just started to get interested in aircraft I thought they built Lancasters first….
Brrr

It looks to me like the back of the He111.

What’s the swastika attached to behind SM845 in the last batch?

Does anyone know why the Spitfire Mk.XVIII has its propeller missing.
Is this just for annual inspection or are there some problems?

I have a cunning plan, I think the Spit should be donated to our museum then you cant take it out on the IWM.
Well it was worth the try!

Probably the Save Concorde Group – “I’m gonna get this thing back in the air even if I have to do it myself”

Great pics Ross thanks fopr sharing them. It is good to see the Hastings finally getting some much needed attention. What are they doing to the concorde nose? Funny caption that they could be hand pushing it up or something ..
