Sunday saw my annual pilgrimage to Duxford.
First stop was the American museum. Everyone knows what’s in there so I thought I’d try some arty farty shots
Moody Mitchell
B-29
Wrinkly B-52
Something old, Something new
Next, to the hangars to see one of the American museum’s normal residents
If you look on the wing you can see evidence of a previous owner…

Think it’ll be ready for April?
Next… Other residents of the hangars.

Great photos, a day out at Duxford is always a good day. I too like the Memorial photos. Have you visited the American Cemetery at Madingley? its a short drive up the M11 from Duxford. I’d recommend a visit there after Duxford as i have done recently.

Very nice!
I go to stand by her whenever I am at Duxford.
It didn’t look much like that when I dragged it out of the elephant stable. Come to think of it, P9374 didn’t look much like she does now after being dragged off the sand…..!!
By the way…hidden inside the DH9 is a photograph of a stunning Bolywood actress who just happened to be around when we were packing it into crates. Her photo was pinned up in the workshops and became the restorer’s ‘mascot’. Later, she got to stay with the aeroplane….!
One day, someone will find her and wonder who she is, and why.
The second (airworthy) DH9 is making good progress.

Firstly, my mate Rich would kill me dead if I didn’t include the VC-10
Out on the field, Tigers and Dragons were at play…

A great day out, if there’s anything specific anyone wants pictures of just ask, I’ve probably got them!

The finest Piston fighter ever made greeted me as I walked in
The Skyraider’s still present

I can’t fail to be amazed that it got back with only this much outer wing
In other news, the P-47 looks well. Nearly there chaps

Next stop, the superhangar
Hastings
Jag
Oxford
Stringbag
Sunderland
It’s a long long way from Ceylon
Endangered inmates…
Next, the great outdoors (no buses!)

Thought I’d get a few shots in here and try to include some machines which, for one reason or another get overlooked frequently
The 109. The MU are a bit slow recovering this one!
Needing some tlc nowadays
And the Hunter could do with a dusting
Nice to see a ‘stang again
Its grown wheels since my last visit!
Navy corner

Lovely to see the Blenheim progressing
Outside, the Cat basked in the sun
Next, the fighter’s lair…
