Good to see that the bookings are so healthy for WK163 this year.

Wow, first i’ve heard about WK163 coming to Brunty for the open day, when abouts is she turning up?

Just to give a clear picture of WK163 activities this season and stop the miss informed passing on any more miss information this is the official display calander for 2007. Additions or cancellations, Weather,

For the first time ever, I’m considering going to Southend next weekend, it used to clash with the Hall and Finchingfield Fete, so I never had the opportunity to make it, I imagine it’s pretty difficult to get near the place, and I haven’t been to Southend for years either, whats the crack?

Southend’s a nice show. Good mix of displays displaying low over the sea, shame no Sea Vixen or Lancaster this year.

My top tip. Park at Lakeside and get the train to Southend, trafic is hell after the end of the show.

Lack of a Harrier is not the fault of the organisers. The RAF is not providing a Harrier display this year due to operational commitments on the OCU at Wittering and the focus on the new-style “capability demonstrations” which will be seen at selected events. Similarly Royal Navy-operated Harriers are also unavailable due to operational constraints.

Regarding Southend, take a look at this for the info: http://www.southendairshow.com. The display itself takes place on the seafront of course, but many enthusiasts head to Southend Airport to obtain close views of participating aircraft (many of the participants operate from there).

I had vowed to go to every DX event this year, but Canberra apart, this line up doesn’t particularly inspire me, especially after the epic events of 2 weeks ago, which have had a great influence on the way I feel about it.

On a different note, wasn’t the live TV coverage of The Reds flying over Wembley Stadium pretty pathetic, Nil Point BBC, and whose great idea was it to have Sarah Brightman attempting to sing with the great Lesley Garrett, how embarrasing, even I didn’t need a book for the bloody words.

Looks like a intresting show, I will be working so can not go so look forward to seeing some great photo’s here.
