A very quiet two days although from 3 o’clock onwards on Saturday we had about an hour and a half of intensive flying with arrivals and practice displays. Once again, superb late afternoon lighting down the M11 end. With the batteries now lasting longer, I was using my Sony SLT-A35, the one with the fixed mirror. On Friday I had a Sony 70-300mm G SSM lens attached but using the 1.4x in-camera teleconverter. With the sensor crop as well, this turns 300mm into 620mm but the teleconverter is a crop of the sensor so the 16mp sensor becomes 8mp. As a camera function there is no control over the settings and the lowest shutter speed appears to be 1/500sec so not much good for prop jobs. Saturday I was using my Sony 70-400mm G SSM lens, without the teleconverter.

Nice pictures. If only we had that clear air on Sunday…

Fantastic set of images again Brian… and what a lovely blue sky to shoot against! That was something at Duxford that sadly eluded me all the time I had decent camera kit…
Cheers

I suspect that in some of the photos at least, they’ve been manipulated to highlight the sky colour.
Still a fantastic set of photos though.
