Duxford Autumn Airshow – Something different

I hope everyone is not sick of seeing piccies from this show yet
The ones that have been posted already are up to the usual excellent standard, thanks for posting.

Below are a few of my shots of the re-enactors that where on the flightline walk prior to the show, I think that they are great and add to the atmosphere.

Just as an aside, my Father came along with me to the show and him being an ex. Fleet Air Arm man he really enjoyed seeing the old Navy stuff. He actually used to work on Gannet’s and Sea Fury’s as well as some of the older “egg beaters” (piston-engined only don’t you know 😉 ) so seeing them out on the flightline was great.

One other thing I wanted to mention, the IWM’s static Sea Hawk in hanger 4 is in the markings of a machine that served on his carrier (look on its tail, Z is the code letter for HMS Albion) – so he was chuffed to bits 😎

Thanks from another who appreciates the re-enactors. I think it makes for more interesting shots.

although that rather modern-looking eggbeater in photo 3 is a bit of a spoilsport!

As does Septic taking a photo by the tail of the Spitfire 😀

Nice piccies
