I think this as the best Duxford air show this year and one of the best in the UK. I very much enjoyed it.
There were many highlights. Obviously the Spitfires but also the Mustang and Hawker Fury/Sea Fury formations and the displays of all of the others great as well.
Just a few pictures for starters.
On the practice and arrivals day on the 20th, we were additionally treated to some flying by Spitfires Mk FR.XVIIIe SM845 and Mk1 N3200 representing the first of the few and the last of the many.
Pictures were taken inside the M11 end of the airfield to make the best use of the light, particularly of aircraft coming round from the left and departing left.
I used the Babraham park and ride which seemed to work for me. Although there was a long queue of people waiting to catch the bus just minutes after the flying finished, it dissipated quickly and and I only waited about twenty minutes for the fourth bus.
Maybe I will use the park and ride again as will mean no more walking all the way from the Royston end of the airfield where my car would otherwise have been parked.
Thanks for looking
