First post air show season visit on Saturday and all was quiet. Could of had something to do with the rain and wind, keeping the public away, but it was warm with it. The numbers picked up in the afternoon though. Instead of my usual hand held camera walk around, I used a tripod with the flash turned off, ISO set at 100 and Aperture Priority for shutter speed and remote shutter release.
The only major change is the ‘einkel in ‘angar 5 has been moved from the paint spray bay to the restoration area.

If I remember correctly, there’s only a couple of feet clearance between a T2 hangar doors and a B-17 wingtips, so tips off is probably just to make things easier to get indoors.

why have they took the wingtips off sally B I would of thought she wont need any winter mainteance this year
I’d guess she’s just getting ready for spending the winter indoors. I’m pretty sure she has the tips off most years when inside for the winter.

what is the gen on the casa? is it being restored as a spanish machine or as pseudo luftwaffe? The Ju52 with the 801 in front of it is most impressive at duxford, would love to have spent more time looking at it!

Great pics, it looks like they are finally going to start the restoration on the spanish Heinkel it has only been there for about 10 years but having the wings in the same hangar is a good start.
I wonder what paint scheme she will end up in though:rolleyes:

could you see the Kent spitfire at all James
Just. It was in H2 northside with its engine covers off but parked down by the main hangar doors which is a bit difficult to see from the centre of the hangar.
