If I could swear on a forum and get away with it, I would sum up the Duxford BoB show in two words. As one cannot get away with it, I will settle for brilliant. I will follow with some Saturday and Sunday pics later.
Friday started with activity between 12 noon and 2.30pm with a few practice Spit displays, a Mustang display and some arrivals. Then a big gap until the French Hawks did a full practice display after 4pm. Then another smaller gap after which things really started going.
The Norse Vampire arrived and did a few roles, the sand coloured Buchon started up and taxied a few feet. Then we were treated to displays by the Sea Fury and the ARCO Buchon.
Finally, just after the Bearcat displayed, the High Plains Drifter from the IWM asked us to leave. As I walked away, two other Spits arrived so no photos of them.
I missed the F16 practice as I was in the restaurant filling my tummy with a delayed breakfast. Seems I left a smut mark on the French Spit.
By the way, if it has not been mentioned elsewhere, PL344 is leaving our shores in a few days for the US.

Brilliant – Superb – Stunning, possibly some of the best Duxford reportage I have ever seen. Saturdays massed Spitfire display was mesmerising & unforgettable. I wish I could have made it there on Friday as well.

Shame PL344 is going back Stateside. Has Mr Blair sold this on? Rumours are Jerry Yagen is buying his Dora.
Can’t wait for the buchon pair.
Even though I’ve not seen ‘344 in the flesh, that’s one of my favourite schemes (yes, I know it’s not wholly authentic!).
And yes, would love to see the Buchons. Can we get three of them?? (The German registered one, too, please?!)

Thanks a lot for sharing!
Beautiful light and pictures! The second topside spitfire pair stands out. If any. They’re all great.

Shot of the diving MH434 is outstanding.

Really excellent shots.
The exemption to display a civil registration is not unusual – you’ll notice the vast majority of UK-based warbirds don’t carry a civvy reg.
