I can now confirm the date of the next Duxford get-together as Saturday 4th October.
The general plan for the day remains the same at the moment:
Morning:
*Meet in Hanger 1, tour inside the Sunderland and hopefully the Lanc too
*Tour around the north side
After lunch:
*Visit to Department of Printed Books and Documents
* Film show in the cinema
After Museum closes:
Dinner/large quantities of alcohol at either the Red Lion at Hinxton or Whittlesford (I prefer the RL at Hinxton personally – better food and friendlier service, but I’ll go with the general consensus)
I am currently viewing various films for possible inclusion into the film show, hope folks enjoy watching them as much as I do 🙂
If you are planning on coming to the get-together, can you send a “yay” in my direction so that I have a general idea of numbers…friends and family are more than welcome too…
With regards to costs, I will keep these to an absolute minimum. As last time, please could you all make your own way through admissions, and then there will be a small charge of no more than £3 to cover the projectionists’ expenses (the Projected Picture Trust is responsible for showing film in the cinema, not the Museum) Any money left over will go to a chosen charity, as will all proceeds from the raffle (any donations for prizes gratefully received! I have a couple up my sleeve :))
Please let me know what you think

Ashley
Sorry, I would like to come to Duxford but I had planned to go to Bruntingthorpe to see the Lightnings, Victor et al blasting along the runway on the 5th October.

Well in that case, I had better print this thread off so I know who’s coming then, before it gets deleted….

First single release could be a cover of ‘Missing You’

Yak11 “JANIE and THE TEMPESTS” just the name for an all girl band, could even be managed by Alexis Lambert ?
By: DIGBY - 28th July 2003 at 22:28
Yak 11 seems like were the only two who know about “JANIE” and the Tempests:D 😀 😀 😀

Now that would be nice, anyone seen Janie lately?

Tentative yes for me and Mr Shox. We’re back in the country by then but may well be tied with family commitments.

Ashley, count me in, and I’ll try and get Mrs Tempest to come as well;)

How is the Red Lion better at Hinxton than Whittlesford? (he said recalling Moggy frog-marching him to the latter! 🙂 )
