I thought I would start a new thread on this as the previous one is getting rather long!
Robert Rudhall has been confirmed, so it is now all systems go!
Tony and I would like to ask those of you who are attending the get-together for a small sum of £4.00…although this does not cover entrance to the Museum, it will cover Robart’s expenses, include a strip of 5 raffle tickets and the rest will go to Mark Hanna’s Burns Fund (if any one has the full title of this charity, I would be very grateful, many thanks)
Additional raffle tickets may be purchased either when sending your £4 or on the day…50p for a strip of 5 tickets, or 3 strips of 5 for £1…all money to go to Mark’s fund.
If those of you who cannot make the get-together but would like to make a donation as I know one or two of you have expressed a wish to do so, please do.
Could all contributions please be sent to me at the following address:
Mrs Rebecca Harding
Film and Video Archive
Imperial War Museum
Duxford
Cambridge
CB2 4QR
If you would like to send a cheque, please make it payable to Rebecca Harding – I will be keeping a full account of all money sent which will be available to view on the day just so that you all know where your money is going.
If you would like to contact me by telephone, my work number is 01223 499366 – I finish for Christmas on Friday but if anyone would like to contact me after Friday, MSG/e-mail me and I will give you contact details. I will be in briefly Mon 23rd to check post/e-mails and will be back on Fri 27th.
I would be very grateful if those of you planning on coming could MSG me with your name – I have got “yes I’m coming” MSGs and e-mails all over the place and would like to get a rough idea of numbers.
Any questions/comments etc, please let me know

RE: Duxford get-together update
Well my display is coming together slowly!
Robert Rudhall is bringing a superb prize with him which must command lots of tickets!!!
I shall (If I remember) bring my Piece of Cake phots from Duxford.
Best present for me (apart from the Spitfire spare gun sight bulb holder one’s darling wife bought!) was Dark Blue World on DvD….absolutely wonderful with some excellent extras.
If anyone wants any phots brought, just post a message on the forum and you never know but someone might be able to oblige!
regards and look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on Sunday!
Tony

RE: Duxford get-together update
I think Damien is correct about making donations to the Mark Hanna Fellowship – I seem to recall that if you just made it out to the Guinea Pig Trust it wouldn’t be ‘earmarked’ for the Trust set up in memory of Mark.

RE: Duxford get-together update
Thank you for your info Damian…I think I am right in saying that the contact details that Merlin provided was the initial point of call for people wanting to make donations in memory of Mark. I will be contacting OFMC after Sunday anyway so will see what they think is best.

Damien
I didnt know thhat there was a specific fund for Mark Hanna. I only knew of the Burns fund that was given as the families selected fund for donations. And as it had been talked about before on this forum I supplied the details of what I though people wanted. Namely the burns fund.
Sorry for any confusion and Ashley perhaps you should write to the Hanna family unless the details I gave you were the ones you wanted.

RE: Duxford get-together update
Hi Ashley,
The fund for burns picked by the Hanna family is listed below. I got this from flypast when the accident happened. I have it listed on my site as part of the East Fortune airfield page as Mark performed there many times. The first link is to the page where a small tribute to Mark is. If you go there you will see the at the bottom of the page the small tribute to Mark and the Address of the fund.
The next link is a link to the rest of my site for any interested parties.
And I included the address for those who want it.

RE: Duxford get-together update
Sorry to have to report that I won’t be able to make this bash, I wasn’t sure what my wifes work pattern was going to be until after Xmas and unfortunately next weekend she has to work both days.
I’ll be thinking of you all whilst I’m trying to keep my kids entertained at home.
Ashley, I will try and get a cheque in the post so as I can win the jar of sweeties!.

Bob…just turn up on the day!
Snapper and Kev…no problems…although if they haven’t already been posted, given the post is still recovering from Christmas, just bring your money on the day!

RE: Duxford get-together update
Seeing as we’re getting very close now, just a week away, if anyone needs transport from the West Midlands area let me know. I’ll be driving down from Walsall and would be happy to provide a lift.
Tony, I’ll bring something down for your raffle/tombola, not sure what yet but I’ll think of something.
Ashley, like Snapper I too forgot to send a cheque so it’s on it’s way. Don’t bother with mucking about sending tickets, I’ll pick them up on the day.
Regards,
kev35

RE: Duxford get-together update
Ashley,
It is still a bit uncertain if I can make this soiree, so is there any options of turning up on the day and joining in, of course stumping up the necessary readies!
Of course if you need concrete numbers and money ‘up-front’ beforehand I quite understand – I’ll just stand outside the window making faces at you all!!! If I can borrow Snappers stepladder 🙂

RE: Duxford get-together update
She’s across the Channel. Why else do you think i’m able to get hammered 100 miles from home, stay in a hotel, and go to Duxford the next day?

RE: Duxford get-together update
Mr Ashley has decided to stay at home and have a Star Wars-a-thon (I can’t stand the films and refuse to watch them!)
But if other halves would like to attend, the more the merrier! 🙂

RE: Duxford get-together update
Probably helpful if you send an SAE to Ashley too!
To recap….prizes so far are an original number plate (identical to a real WW2 one) from a German vehicle used in the Battle of Britain Film (possibly a Kubelwagen or motorcycle), a great item and you can enjoy trying to spot it when watching the film over & over again…indeed it will give you an excuse to tell the other half as to why you are watching it again!
My daughters are donating a big jar of sweeties. If anyone has anymore prizes donate that would be nice…I shall be having a scour around the place to try and find something more.
It should be a fun day out with dreaming of the warmer days!
