Having just seen the pictures of the new TFC Thunderbolt being removed from its container, it got me thinking about the distribution of the worlds P-47’s.
Is Duxford currently the only airfield in the world with 3 x P-47’s on display?
and where are the others ( static and airworthy ) located?

Not quite the same thing, but there was a photo floating around here a while back of no less than FIVE Jugs in formation. I bet that was something! 🙂

The Tennessee Museum of Aviation was host to three flyable Thunderbolts for a while, though I don’t know if all three are still at the Museum currently. Also Chino airport is home to three Jugs but I’m not sure the third is viewable by the general public.

Airfield maybe. Restoration shop…well no.
Here are three ‘Razor back’ P-47’s I snapped in Australia a few weeks back.
All are ex New Guinea.
