So far this year, including arrival and air show days, I have had 33 visits to Duxford and I will probably have one more end of the year mid week visit next week. This collection does not include air show pictures but a variety of shots that I have taken throughout the year.
January didn’t quite get off to a good start.
February and although cold and quite, some flying does take place.
March and it is getting warmer and there are more people visiting and cobwebs are being blown away from flying skills.
April and Duxford starts to come alive with aircraft being prepared for the display season.

Gone but not forgotten.

May

June Not all flights go according to plan
July and a busy month. Just a wing fuel leak but was flying half an hour later.
Mr Grey admiring his new addition to the inventory

An anxious moment following an engine run.
Paning doesn’t always work out
August Shock Horror. I didn’t visit.
September
October not all aircraft movements go to plan.
November and despite the weather and the wind-down for winter maintenance, some work and play does take place.

Pagan, i am new to this forum so please forgive me if there you have received a personal reply about your FW-190 query already, but it belongs to the American collector Tom Blair and is one of the new ones being built by Flug Werk in Germany. Because we don’t have an ‘experimental’ category in this country, its not allowed to fly here, but the last i heard Mr Blairs engineers were going to undertake an ‘engineering audit’ (whatever that is!!!) to see if the CAA will allow it to be flown- if not it will be on its way to America (fingers crossed, they will!!)
Actually, I think you’ll find he already has one there as well!

Nothing to do with it being a warbird – just that its new build, and the CAA have to be convinced that it has been built to the same standards as the original

That’s the one! Wouldn’t that cause a stir driving past Heathrow…

Did anyone else see October’s pic and think “Hmmm. With a little judicious cropping, we have a caption contest here…”
Nice set of pics. I’ve got to DX twice this year, and it was dark both times!

Thanks for that info Oxcart, and yes you are the only one to reply, I didn’t realise that one of the ‘new’ ‘190s was over here. It would be lovely to see it flying in the UK, would there be a problem with the CAA? I didn’t think there was too much restriction on foreign warbirds.

Thanks for the update Oxcart. Like you I hope the CAA will allow it to fly here though knowing what they’re like I’m not going to hold my breath.

A Year In The life Of An Airfield. Really captures the spirit of what the organisations at DX are all about. Cracking pictures too.

Wonderful photographs, especially those of the 2 Spits starting up in a cloud of smoke and MH434 coming into land.I have never had the camera to get such high quality shots.
My annual visit to Duxford is always my favourite day out each year. My pix are nothing special with my el-cheapo camera but I did manage to capture the new MkV in desert colours which was top of my agenda that perfect sunday in september…..

Nice way of telling the story “Duxford 2007”. Why not make a calendar of it?

Cracking shots Brian, they really capture the day to day atmosphere of the place. The Tigercat looks stunning.
BTW Which FW 190 is that, or is it a replica?
Thanks for sharing.
