Ah.. removable wings, of course.
A great money-saver but a huge hassle factor.
Good luck to him, it must be so frustrating having to suspend work.

“Plane” is a woodworking tool btw 😉

Latest update:
Plane won’t be ready for some time. He reckons another year or two.
The fuselage is done from the cockpit back. The tail and fins are done and they’re working on the wings.
But the owner needs to have his house re-thatched first, so is buying parts from the States as and
when he can afford it. He’s also having a bigger workshop built to store the plane when its finished.

Any idea when the 12 will be completed?

I shall make enquiries, although I should imagine it’s fairly well advanced.

It will be good to see another Van’s at the field.
I currently share the older ‘new’ hangar with a PA28, C152, Tiger Moth, Condor (Not FW200!) and some flexwing micro.
There used to be another RV that left before I arived, and a Yak 50 which disappeared mid-year and has yet to return.
Any idea when the 12 will be completed?

Ah right. A coincidence, as my brother-in-law who lives in Scole, is helping a chap build an RV12.
I’m not sure if he already flies from Tibenham, but that’s where I believe this aircraft will fly from
when completed.
I’ve no idea of the chaps name.

Yes, indeed I do.
Mine is c/n 0003, and was the first completed RV4 to fly that was not factory built, alleged to have flown a few days before the first production RV4 0002. The builder was Allan Tolle, a famed US builder with many completed aircraft carrying his name on the logbook.
It then became the first RV4 in the UK and was used by the PFA (Now LAA) to validate the type for aerobatics.

Thanks DCW
I am sorry I missed this, but I’m currently touring the Normandy beaches and the RV is sitting on the ramp at Cherbourg.
Your pictures are almost as good as being there
