Heard various mutterings and rumors at RIAT the weekend from people saying that Duxford are aiming to get all the available Spits and Hurricanes for the Battle of Britain show? True or false? Cheers for any info.

Anyone know which Seafire it will be? My guess would be Kennet’s.

Isn’t there a 109 at Wattisham, very close to flying for an american owner?
Exactly what I was thinking – I thought that was closer to flying than the Buchon…

Sorry to dig up quite an old thread, but just looking at the IWM website, some way down the list of September participants I couldn’t help noticing a Messerschmitt Bf109! Are we talking Bf109e, or is this “Red 7”, which obviously would no longer be participating?

Most likely Breighton’s Buchon I should think, although as far as I’m aware it still hasn’t flown yet…..

Could this be TFCs XIV, currently without engine??
I would presume so. I checked out TFC hanger last Saturday, and she’s engineless, and I can’t see her going anywhere soon.

That’ll be quite a tailchase.

One of the Griffon-engined Spitfires has gone “tech” and won’t be ready till October/November.

Same source now quoting 18 Spitfires and 6 Hurricanes. One of the Griffon-engined Spitfires has gone “tech” and won’t be ready till October/November. Still sounds like a good show though.

To get back to the original enquiry, I overheard somebody who should know, say they were aiming for 19 Spitfires and 6 Hurricanes. That should make for a good show I would think?

Flight to Stansted from La Rochelle: 99p. Plus £3000 tax.
No contest.

No. I missed one from getting married in france that day, the next year was my anniversary, and this year I’ll be on a beach somewhere. I am very annoyed Duxford did it again.
