Sorry but I felt I had to share my rather tame photos from Sun!!!!!!

Tsk Tsk. Watching me watching you. Now whilst I would have gladly switched perches with you on Sunday, it must have been pretty hot inside. :dev2:

Thanks for all the comments and information chaps. I’ll watch out for the into sun shots to confirm the error and hope I have one of the better quality builds, I don’t fancy lots of hassle with warranty claims.

Buying from 7dayshop.com included UK VAT in the original price.

It is a much heavier lens than I’ve used before, so I might be getting a bit of blur resulting from poor panning. Photoshop can deal with some but not all of the soft focus and panning blur.

I’ll keep plodding on at the airshows and hope that practice will reduce the number of dud shots, only one in four are sharp. It makes me appreciate the quality of photographers that we have posting on this Forum.

regards

Nice pics Merlin70. Once again a stunning DX show it seems. 🙂 Your new lens works fine.

Oh for gawds sake 😀

(or so I was told a couple of years ago)

I thought this was common knowledge (even the wife knows 😮 )

I didn’t know that about the familiarisation flights, don’t have much interest in the Reds really.

I see it wasn’t common knowledge a couple of years ago then. 😉

Two people in some of the Reds cockpits. Mmm.

Oh for gawds sake 😀

This happens every year and is part of the selection process, prospective pilots for next year(and I believe the pilots actually chosen) fly in the rear cockpit for the final few displays, this allows the pilots to “bed in” to their new jobs and is a very valuable part of the training and selection process (or so I was told a couple of years ago)

Not really the right Forum for posting the Reds, but I don’t venture onto the others.

Great shots, Thanks for posting Merlin 70.

My Nikon d100 sometimes has to be turned off after displaying an error message.

With the Nikkon its normally down to over exposure resulting from too low a shutter speed!

I had terrible trouble leaving DX yesterday, finally left the airfield at 7.35 pm, I wish they would not put the Arrows at the end of the show.

I’ll post my shots tomorrow as my PC graphics card has literally had melt down.

Septic. 🙂

A formidable camera and lens combination! The images from Canon DSLRs do come out a little soft at full res – you’re better off sharpening in photoshop than using in-camera sharpening.

Thanks for the info, I keep looking at their site and their prices are very good, but some of the online reviews state that some people have been asked to pay VAT when collecting from the post office.

I take it that you had know problems like this?

Bought the lens online through 7dayshop.com

It arrived 5 days from placing the order. Jessops are offering a reasonable deal at the moment at around £50 more than 7dayshop.com

It dropped offline three times today causing an err01, requiring a powerdown and remove and reconnect lens. Nothing serious but a pain when the cause is unknown.

The chip in the camera could do with tweaking to make the images crisper, but on the whole I am pretty happy with what I’ve got.
