Excellent show all round……….glad the F-15’s showed:o
A special mention to the commentary team, particularly Ben Dunnell for correcting the glaring omission of Brian Lecombers name when Brendan O’Brien claimed none of the former Rothmans Team members were alive!

It was a great day, fantastic weather,no traffic problems and the continuity and quality of the flying was excellent. Cannot really single out any particular display but enjoyed Sally B with the 3 P-51s opening the show and the 2 F-15s flyby well done Lakenheath. Rare to see an Apache helicopter display also. The Cosmic Wind was a great rolling performer as well as the Rothmans tribute with the Pitts(hilarious lady commentator !) Brendan O’Brian stole the show with his Piper Cub landing on the moving truck. Cracking flybys by the Golden Apple F-86. Well done to all the pilots and the atmosphere was great. 😀

Indeed they did turn up, oh ye of little faith! And were part of a beautiful day, cloudless skies, very enjoyable flying display and a perfect end to the Duxford flying season. And how marvellous to see the Swordfish out for its first public appearance enjoying the run from Yeovilton to Duxford for the day. And the first time 4 Pitts have been together for years – it brought back golden memories of the great Rothmans team.

I would say there was no chance of a display by the F-15’s, it will be a result if they turn up.
There hasnt been a dedicated demo crew in the USAFE since 1991 although Lakenheaths jets have been used by the stateside demo pilots at RIAT and Legends in 07 when an E model flew as part of the Heritage Flight and did a solo routine as well.

Well they certainly turned up and passed over my house very low 4 times while awaiting their turn. A magnificent sight!

Heads up – if you’re not at the show, you can watch it live on Planes TV

Thanks very much for that. I didn’t catch much of the show, but it was wonderful to see it live from over here in Virginia. It was a little grainy, and choppy, but fantastic to see things as they happened!

Cheers,
Richard

I’ll be there going with friends . I can remember sitting in Sally B at the Biggin Hill Air Fair in 1975 and seeing her on the Duxford apron that year.

Weather looks very promising indeed for this last Duxford of the season, with an enticing flying programme as well. Can’t wait.:)
