Spent an enjoyable (if cold) day at Duxford on Monday. Pen Pusher has Duxford covered excellently, and I often come back from Duxford disappointed with the photos I’ve taken in the hangars anyway, so I decided to try something a bit different and snap away primarily in monochrome. I fugded a few of them (the light in the AAM was particularly tricky), but these are the ones that made the cut.
Comments & criticisms always appreciated. More can be found at http://www.flickr.com/photos/esmarsh.

Agreed. Those aircraft always look so smooth from a distance but theup close and personal shots of the T-6 show that there is actually dimpling around most of the rivet heads and ripples in the skin panels of some of the other aircraft shown.

An inspiring collection of images Elliot, I often feel the same when I go to Duxford, and even when I stand in awe at all the superb engineering and what it all means, I rarely get home with some really meaningful images. I have taken some nice pics, but I should really “look” and understand what I’m looking at.
These look superb in B&W by the way.

Martin

Very nice. Particularly like the low-angle ‘109 shots

Simply stunning Elliott, and quite evocative as well. Some of those images would’nt be out of place in the Tate Modern gallery :).
