At least the FW 190 is in a decent position for taking photos now and have a read of what is written on the undercarriage door, especially the last line. Many thanks to magdrop for access to ‘his’ Spitfire. The upper gallery on the other side of AirSpace is open to the public now but still can’t get to the Mosquito. The Hastings has been moved sideways and is in the paintshop. Couldn’t really photograph it as it’s cocooned in masses of clear polythene taped from floor to ceiling

The Gladiator is going to be stunning when she’s finished. Seems to be progressing nicely.

Are the wings at TFC too. Look forward to seeing that one in the air for sure!
The other gladiator wings are with Vintage Fabrics at the moment.

Very nice. I just worked out the tyre pressure on the 190’s main wheels, close on 80 psi-not the kind of thing you want going bang on you. Actually, if you base it on the more correct 14.7 psi rather than 14.5 then 5.5 atmospheres comes out at 80.87psi.

Had a bit of a double take on that JP as I saw it’s sister, 1127, hanging from another ceiling in Riyadh just the other week.
Nice pics, will get up there once it’s fully open.

Nice photos Pen Pusher Did you get one of the RE8? – I don’t think I’ve seen one yet of it in AirSpace.
Yes….ish. If you look between the Canberra and Sunderland you can see it hanging there. Well camouflaged it is.:D

One of the uncovered wings was there. I think the others are in the process of being covered.

The Canberra does look good suspended and prompts the question – what is the largest or heaviest aircraft hanging on wires in a museum?
Roger Smith.

I’ve never had any great issues with ‘hung’ airframes (Other opinions are available), but I have to say that the image of the Canberra removes even a lingering doubt. To me, it looks so much more ‘alive’ than the floor squatting aircraft.
Nice images. 🙂
