Whilst browsing through some old photo’s I found a couple of photo’s taken in Bikaner about 15 years ago (during my back packing days) that I thought may be of interest.
This is the composite airframe that became the example now on display at Duxford. Unfortunately photography wasn’t exactly easy- the display hall was originally built as an Elephant stable!
I belive there were three airframes in total on site and was told that the ‘interesting’ nose profile resulted from the engines being taken to power agricultural pumps.
Sorry for the quality- a combination of point & press camera, old prints and scanning I’m afraid.

Had a quick Google around and I think you are right. (should have checked before….)

I confess I thought that one was still there. The other two came back, and have been/ are being rebuilt.

I will stand correction Bruce- just hope they are of interest.

Last time I saw a nose that shape I had made a dodgy attempt at carving a balsa block and attached it to the front of a Keilkraft Ajax!
The wheels look about the right size for a rubber powered job as well but I don’t think that prop will generate much thrust!
