DVDs play an important part in my autistic son’s life. Unfortunately he is rather hard on them and has just started carrying individual discs around with him when not in use. Those of you with knowledge of autism will know how a pattern of behaviour can be challenging, and this is one example.
What I’d like to do is to make back-up copies and store them on my pc. Is it possible to do so by creating a directory for a DVD and then copying the data?
I suspect anti-copying coding may be installed on discs, but only on some of them? Any new discs will be for our family use only. I just tried to copy data but half-way through a message came up that it was unable to copy – but this may be due to the disc being damaged.
Any advice appreciated.

I’m afraid that, even with the best of intentions, what Seafuryfan is asking for is advice on breaking current UK law.
Bearing in mind that this is a UK-based site, I really have no option but to close the thread.
Any further responses to the OP by PM or email, please.
Thanks

Please don’t quote the entire post that you are answering when it is directly above your own post. It is not necessary. Moggy
I suspect people wont answer on a public forum, as the solution you seek is thought of as illegal, but it isn’t always…. see: –
