I purchased from my last four trip in England, a serie of documentaries published by the Imperial War Museum (apparently from 2002 to now) that are, to my very demanding eyes, absolutly great !
Those documentaries are made ONLY 🙂 of wartime instruction films or wartime news films, there is no postwar footages at all 😮 .
This serie include 7 DVDs concerning only RAF during the WWII and
so far I have seen 5 of them (still have two to purchase).
There are 6 titles :
– FERRY PILOT (not yet seen)
– THE ROYAL AIR FORCE AT WAR 1940 (instructions films) 123 mn
– THE ROYAL AIR FORCE AT WAR 1941-42 (instructions films) 96 mn
– THE ROYAL AIR FORCE AT WAR 1943-44 (instructions films) 98 mn
– THE ROYAL AIR FORCE AT WAR combined operations (not yet seen)
– THE ROYAL AIR FORCE AT WAR newsreels (GENS & GAFS) 6 h 20 mn (2 dvd)
– SPITFIRE FRONTLINE FIGHTER 72 mn
this last title include 4 chapters :
The daily inspection of a spitfire – 1940
Re-arming – 1940
Fighter pilot – 1940
Spitfires – 1944 (recognition film)
The average price is unfortunatly a bit high, around £16, but the contents is just outstanding an make it worth to purchase and why not for Christmas …
