E-10 AESA radar can generate HPM

according to aviation week, AESA currently being develop for next gen. of AWAC ,multi sensor E-10 can also generate high power microwave (HPM) to disable ground or airborne avionics system.
this allowed the radar said not only able to track small RCS such as cruise missile.but also generate HPM to “shoot-down” the cruise missile.
other such as APG-77 can also generate HPM to defend herself against radar or ir guide AAM or SAM.
i believe for the HPM to effective,it has do it at close range.
