Ford has unveiled a custom Mustang in honor of the RAF Eagle Squadron and the Centenary of the RAF.
It will be auctioned to benefit the Experimental Aircraft Association’s “Young Eagles” flight experience program.
For the past several years Ford has produced a one of a kind aeronautical-themed Mustang, they bring bring very good prices when sold during the AirVenture event at the group’s meet in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. While not quite to Merlin standards, this Mustang boasts 700 horsepower.
I rather like the scheme, I’m sure some of you will differ.

I knew we’d get a killjoy.
I’m sure it’s not Ford’s or the EAA’s fault they quit making Triumph Spitfires. Heck, they don’t even make Triumphs. 🙂
And in case you don’t know, the car was named after the airplane, they just put a horse on the car because not many would recognize a (then) twenty year old fighter.

Saw it on Thursday: I have to say I thought it was an imaginative idea. Not sure how it will weather though 🙂
