dark light

Earth Day. (Fascism, hysteria, snobbery, political correctness)

Conservatives are for conservation, that doesn’t mean I blindly follow the fascist liberal global warming agenda.

Much of the politically correct environmental movement is fascist, snobbish, counterproductive and nuts.

What is next; is Al Gore going to make a government mandate that everyone save their earwax to make candles?

Well I agree, I was on a bit of a rant (A few drinks tend to start up my rant mode haha). But truth be told, GE is a large corporation with many different entities. A good many of its products is based towards the “green movement”. Here in the US its half of their commercials, how “clean and green” they are.

To top it all off, they own one of the major tv networks, NBC. I swear half the time on the morning news show, they spend on “green” issues. Honestly, I have no problem with this, except they pass it off as news. That was my point of calling GE the “green commie crap company”…..I just got a little wound up πŸ˜€

Ahhhhh….. that’s just big business for you. We get the same kind of thing here in the UK.

Always tell the customer what they want to hear…… 😎

Isn’t GE the ‘green commie crap company’ that builds all those aero engines that upset the Green Party so much?

Never let the facts get in the way of a good rant……. 😎

I have news for you guys. Many companies are “green” nowadays. And they all push so that their environmentally friendly products are favored / detaxes / whatever. BUT it isn’t because of environmental concerns. It is because there is a market, and because they want to own it, and make profit.

(Or would you think that the state would push people to install solar panels on houses in a country that sees 50% of rainy / cloudy days on an average ? )

And now, while I’m not saying that we shouldn’t try to save energy and avoid pollution where we can, the current eco trend is just ridiculous.
Do you think that by purchasing a new car with a slightly better mileage and somewhat lower emissions to replace your low mileage, 5 year old car, you will do any good to the planet? No, because the energy spent to produce it will most likely negate the benefits of driving 10000km / year…

…Cause they’re the biggest green commie crap company to come along since the old FDR days of the great depression…….Call me crazy, but the numbers do add up.

You and I should run the planet!

In UK, we don’t get money for drink cans.
The large fizzy drink bottles no longer have a deposit upon return (a) Because they are plastic and (b) they are plastic because a glass one can explode if dropped (I’ve done this just to check!!!)
I do not use the new lightbulbs because they are shyte. By the time they warm up to give enough light, one has finished in that room anyway. And, even when they are “On”, it actually hurts to read by them. I’m back on 60w real bulbs all over the house. 150w in one case.

We recycle glass / papers / plastic / cloth because the Council pick it up every fortnight.

If it combustable like heavy cardboard or wood etc I torch it in the garden incinerator…..the ashes go into the compost bin, which eventually end up on my vegetable garden.

If it costs me money to go green, then it isn’t green. The new lightbulbs “Could” save me money but at the cost of my eyesight and sanity.(I’ve never worked out the payback for a bulb that is 6 times the initial outlay cost but uses 20% of the energy)

My car does 34 mpg (Imp) and is 17 years old with only 116,000 on the clock. (59k of which are mine since 2005).

And yes, Global warming is real, but it isn’t due to man. A single volcano eruption puts more harm in the air than man can do in a year. The whole scam is just another way for Guvmints to find a way to make you pay more tax.

Oh yeah, to add to what I said, the biggest lobbying group in Washington DC is not the oil companies as many would expect, its General Electric/GE……

Now we ask, why would GE have such a vested interest in what laws the guvmit (as my friend across the pond so pointedly said) passes? Cause they’re the biggest green commie crap company to come along since the old FDR days of the great depression…….Call me crazy, but the numbers do add up.

All I can say is heres a toast to Earth Day, praise the Lord. Oh wait, I cant say that. Anyways, well Ill raise my drink (can I do that?).

Quite frankly, this whole subject has become so politicized its nothing but a joke anymore…….lets just drop it…..unless we all want to discuss politics etc etc……cause to do otherwise would be pointless.

Don’t you see? Recycling is fascism!

As ATFS clearly proves, each and every time you use a low-wattage light bulb, you might just as well send someone to the gas chambers. Isn’t he brilliant?

Tell us how you really feel.
Don’t hold back, I hear it’s bad for your blood pressure…:D

Seriously, We should all do the common sense stuff. I’ve been recycling for years (especially aluminum cans…gave the money to an animal walfare charity) we do the whole bit, plastic, paper, glass, cardboard (but not the thin stuff..don’t know why, it’s all made out of the same stuff. They’re very picky). Recycle used engine oil from oil changes and the drip pan from under one of my old cars. The house itself is well insulated and not too large.

I have solar security lights around the home & yard.

I have a neighbor’s cattle keep the back pasture grass short.

Turn off light when not in use. I’m replacing old bulbs when they burn out with the new fluorescent types.

Drive a fuel efficient car..(okay I use the truck for hauling and towing my classic car, and in winter weather).

I just hate waste…whether its my money for electricity or fuel, or resources in general.
