Anyone have any info on what aircraft will be appearing this year?
Best wishes

I didn’t think it was the best show. Getting a bit samey in terms of the dispay acts. Still not a bad day out though, disappointed the Canberra and Sea Hawk cancelled. Traffic was pretty busy when I joined the queue at 10 and took about half an hour to get in and parked. Was surprised with the queue to collect tickets. I paid at the gate and that queue was moving much quicker. Wouldn’t have been impressed if I was to collect them there.
Regarding people watching from the car park – I went over during the Pitts so I could make a sharp exit! You do get a very different view and a bit more room. Most people I saw did actually have their wristbands on. Some idiot started walking through the field though during the Hawk and it looks like he had a dog. Police tried to use an ineffectual loud haler which couldn’t really be made out over the Hawk!

I also noticed, upon arrival, ( about 10:30 ) the length of the queues to get in. The queue at that time for collection of pre-booked tickets was just as long as the ” buy on the day ” queue which I would imagine would upset some people who had pre-booked in order to avoid queueing.
I wonder how many of those who arrived late just sat and watched the display from outside the venue, rather than joining the queue to get in? quite a few appeared to be doing so.
Best wishes

15,000 there according to “The Evening News” and we noticed people were still queuing up a couple of hours into the show.
This could possibly be one area for improvement. I also noticed, upon arrival, ( about 10:30 ) the length of the queues to get in. More ticket booths for next year perhaps ??
Best option was pre-booking and getting them sent through to home address, although I realise this might not have been possible closer to the show.

Could somebody tell me how to go about putting pictures onto a page, I have some wonderful wooden aircraft here I would like to share with you all.
Cheers.

Highlights for me – Sally B and BBD, Sea Fury, 2 seat Spit, and a rather sprightly display from the locally based prototype Bulldog.
And me! Plus the BBMF, although the commentator kept describing the Spitfire as a MkIX (MK356), which it wasn’t (MkVB AB910 instead). My guess is the MkIX was meant to be there but went tech?
Also the SE5a replica was lovely to watch – really made me want to watch The Blue Max or Aces High! 😀

I had a great time as well. Well done to those who put the hours in. 😀

Thoroughly enjoyable show despite the cancellation of the Canberra and RNHF Sea-Hawk ( was particularly looking forward to that having never seen one in the skies before).

Thanks to all involved.

The Canberra and Vampire were also with Karl. He had obtained the APSS Auster and was collecting it at the Show.
Robert,
Are you the same Mr Whitton instrumental in this aircrafts survival ?
Which see…….

Don’t suppose anyone managed to snap the Typhoon did they? I have several grey pixels with two orange pixels at the back.

Regards the Auster at EF, would anybody from APSS care to tell us why they decided to sell it?, has it anything to do with the Museums new “aquisitions”.

I’d also say that was a good day out, pity the Sea Hawk and Canberra conuldn’t make it. (the Sea Hawk pulled out of the Campbeltown show last weekend as well)
Apologies for the no show of the Canberra. Unfortunately she went U/S on the way over. Nothing serious, just one of those little niggles that these old ladies sometimes get and quite rightly the Pilot turned her back home.
Look out for her at Elvington on the 19th.
Regards
Chris

Yeah, I noticed a distinct lack of aviation-related stalls, too. More fairground-type attractions to get some of the less aviation-inclined punters in, I suppose.

East Fortune
Just want to say how much my Wife and I enjoyed the show today,
never thought watching a Helicopter (The Merlin), could be so much fun, star of the show for us.
Sally B was wonderful along side BBD.
Stalls……….4……………….what is going on at East Fortune?.
OK, Sunderland was on today but not everybody must have been there.
Anybody have an idea who was doing the commentary today, there is a guy who loves his Aircraft and shows.

Dave,
Apart from mine there was a Vampire cockpit, a Canberra cockpit, and a complete Auster.
As Robert said, that was it.
The T2 from Leuchars didn’t appear 🙁
Ian.

A couple more photos. Just imagine the result of dropping the object beside the Vulcan on the Argies!!
Robert,
So there were other cockpits in attendance also ?

Ahhh, I was wondering whether anyone knew anything about that Auster….

A few photos from the Display. Just as well Ian Sheffield , Karl Edmundson and the re-inactment people were there as apart from a Microlight there were no visitors. Rain at the end of the display produced a clear car park quickly! and Ian had an ideal place to keep out of the rain.
Didnt see Daz but saw the Sea Fury! A great machine, seen a few fly and have managed to sit in one, what a big brute, its quite a climb!

Hi,
Couldn’t go to airshow today as I’m off on holiday next weekend and saving my pennies. Going to Shuttleworth display next Sunday.
Did see the Blades pass over house this morning as well as the P51 and BBMF flight.
