Hi People,
I have been hearing from people and reading in the papers that Transco (the gas company in Scotland) are to planning to put a gas pumping station on the perimeter of East Fortune airfield, home to the East Fortune Museum of Flight.
This would affectively end any flying from here at present and hold back any plans for the developement of East Fortune as a working airfield. Which is what the museum hopes for and most of the local public. For this hope to be realised the pumping station, which as I see it could easily be relocated with the minimum of fuss, cannot be put on the airfield perimeter.
The Gas pumping station would have a no fly zone round it. I am unsure of the exact distance but I am lead to believe by a good authority that it would drastically disable any flying from there at the moment and as I see it threaten the airshow and PFA Flyins. There is also a business of micrilight flying which would also be threatened. Would this be able to survive?
Please help the cause of the museum and local aviation by signing this petition.

Dear Mr Collins.
I am appalled that Transco is planning a
gas pumping station on the edge of the
Museum of Flight Airfield and wish to
register my objection to the development
which would threaten the future of one of
Lothians most popular tourist attractions.

Thanks for your attention and hopefully we can stop this thing wrecking any chances of having a working airfield at East Fortune again.
How many airfields have already been lost to development sites such as industrial use of even a complete gas and petrochemical plant ie Grangemouth.
Please help us stop this and sign the petition.
Please also give this petition to as many people as you know will support the cause and also send an email like this too if you can.
Cheers

I know it might not matter to some of you but at least sign one petition for a country that only has 2 airshows a year when south of the border there are many to choose from.

Doesn’t even rhyme.
Anyway, perhaps we’ll get more a/c and stalls at Duxford now…..!
