Easter Island

On Friday I will be getting a little money from my dear old departed Mums estate. Most is going on debts but I wanted to take a trip to Easter Island which is a place I wanted to visit and it would also combine a decent few flights. However I nearly fell off my chair when I looked at the prices – BA are over 2000 quid for London to Santiago, Chile return and Lan Chile charge over 900 dollars for the return from Santiago to Easter Island. Apart from anything else there is only one flight a week from Santiago to Easter Island (a 767 I think) and I only get 3 weeks holiday.
Does anyone know of a place I might be able to get cheaper fares?
